Fees include but are not limited to:
- Student services fee: $52 per session
- Parking fee: $89-$288 per year, depending on permit
- Graduate Student Association Fee: $22 per semester (no more than $44 per year)
- Student Health Fee: $279 per semester (full-time students only)
Tuition and fees cover a campus ID from the campus police, a Rice e-mail account, Fondren Library privileges, access to the Rice Recreation Center and representation to the Rice University Graduate Student Association (GSA).
First-semester students will receive their required texts at no charge. Following their first semester, all students are responsible for the cost of their required texts.

The MLS program offers limited scholarships to current students who demonstrate financial need. The program is actively seeking individuals or corporations who could underwrite a scholarship fund to help worthy students pursue their degree.
