Weekday Evening Program

All languages and proficiency levels offered.

Four sessions (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall) are offered yearly. Each session is eight weeks long with three hours of class per week. (See the program calendar.) Classes meet either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45-7:15 p.m. or 7:30-9:00 p.m. on the Rice campus. (See the class schedule below for tentative course times.)

Placement of new students who are not beginners is determined by testing and/or interview. Spanish and French testing dates are listed in the session calendar. Students of other languages will be contacted by their teachers for an interview to determine placement. No testing is necessary for beginning students.

Eight-week sessions (3 hours weekly): $370

Returning students must register by the discount deadline in order to receive a $30 discount. See the discount policy for details. New students may apply until the application deadline and are not eligible for discounts.

The schedule listed below is tentative. All days and times are subject to change. Please check back for an updated schedule. TBA indicates "to be announced." A minimum of five students is required to open a class. The exact schedule for each session takes into consideration placement test results, teacher assignments, and classroom availability. You will receive a call from the Language Programs office regarding your schedule no later than the last business day before classes begin.
