Applications should be received by the application deadlines listed for the program for which you are applying. (See program calendar for deadlines.) A minimum of five students is required to open a class. After the application deadline, sections may be added or canceled depending on student enrollment, so early application is recommended. Students may be placed after the deadline if space is available. Please call the Language Programs office for additional schedule information, 713-348-4019.
Admission to language courses does not constitute admission to any other unit of Rice University. Students do not receive academic credit for these courses, but will receive 2.4 Continuing Education Units for satisfactory completion of each eight-week course or two-week intensive course. Persons applying for these courses must have graduated from a secondary school.
