Note: Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a cushion if choosing to sit on the floor. Tibetan Meditaion I is not a prerequisite for Tibetan Meditation II. Instructor: Alejandro Chaoul, PhD, who has trained with Tibetan lamas since 1989, is an assistant professor at the McGovern Center for Health, Humanities, and the Human Spirit at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and an adjunct assistant professor at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he is involved in research using Tibetan mind-body techniques with cancer patients and where he facilitates meditation for cancer patients and their support systems. Dr. Chaoul is also director of the Ligmincha Texas Institute for the Tibetan Meditative & Healing Arts. He holds a PhD from Rice University focusing on Tibetan religious traditions.
